A Clean Car.... For Now

Over the weekend, Ryan took Lily's car seat completely apart and I gave it a very thorough cleaning.

Inspired by a freshly washed car seat, I decided to to give the Tahoe a good vacuum.  Then because I was on such a roll, I wiped down the entire inside of the vehicle and sprayed a little Febreeze on the floor mats.

Every singe time I clean out my car, I never fail to be amazed at all the food crumbs I discover.  While some may think that's completely disgusting, I take comfort in the fact that if we ever got trapped in our car, we could forage for food and survive for quite some time.

Cleaning my car reminded me of a comic strip I read a while back.  Read and enjoy....

  1. most of my floor candy is composed of french fries and mcdonald's crumbs. My daughter occasionally spills nerds back there though, and those NEVER go bad. . . right? RIGHT???

  3. Well I'm glad to see the back of my minivan is in good company. I found so many goldfish back there I thought I could have stocked a pond.....

  4. My husband has the irritating habit of giving Little Miss a baggie of cut-up hot dog to snack on in the back seat. You want to find something nasty after a few weeks under a floor mat, try that one!

  5. Jim - Is there such a thing as "fresh" Nerds?? You're 100% correct - I don't think they ever go bad, which of course makes us question if we should be eating them in the first place.... :)

Karen - Glad to see that you have the dairy food group covered.

Lizbeth - Unfortunately, it wasn't totally just the BACK of my car that was crumby. I discovered quite a few Chick-fil-a crumbs around the driver's seat - I'm sure it was my husband who made that mess!

  6. Karla - Yum. Stinky petrified wieners.... Though it does sound like between all of us, we would have quite the buffet. Maybe a nice tailgate party??

  7. I love the comic strip! Too close to home.
I always said, especially when my boys were younger, if ever stranded in my car, I could live for a good two to three weeks just on the trail mix created with the droppings....Of course, nowadays, I won't ever risk dying of dehydration, because I'll always have a spare pair of socks to stick out in the rain to gather water. (Granted, I won't die of dehydration, it'll be the water collected mixed with nasty athletic shoe fungus that will get me....)

  8. Haha! Cars are truly the smallest places where we can find the most surprising things that we haven’t seen for a very long time. :D For what it’s worth, I think the best part is that you got to finally clean your car. Make it a habit, my friend, then you’ll stop being amazed by the shocking appearance of your car’s debris. =D
